Start of official sessions of the first environmental conference in Khartoum

Khartoum, Khartoum, (Conference Bulletin) - The sessions of the Khartoum state’s First environmental conference under the slogan of «Towards an Environmental Green Capital and Sustainable Development» continued on Sunday after the official opening session which took place on Saturday evening in Khartoum.
The conference is organized by the Higher Council of Environment, urban and rural promotion Khartoum state, in collaboration with the ministry of environment, natural resources and physical development.
In the first session, headed by professor Mukhtar Ahmed al Mustafa, a number of papers will be discussed including the question of desertification in the Sudan, the green belts in the Sudan, the biological methods for controlling wind erosion using shelterbelt, and the role of the Mesquite on desertification control, as well as the Slovakia experience in the areas of green belts.
The papers are presented in order by Dr Abdenaser Ibrahim Hano, Faculty of Forestry University of Khartoum, Professor Talaat Dafalla Abdel Magid University of Bahri and Dr Eman El Rasheed Diab National Center for Research, Dr Nuha Ahmed Mohamed Mutwali, Forestry Research center and gum Arabic research, Dr Hiroshi Yasuda Arid Land Research Center Terrotori University and Professor Viliam Pichler Dean Faculty of Forestry.
